Felicity Lavender is the current St Ives Showgirl and will be working with the Northern Suburbs Agricultural & Horticultural Society Inc to make the St Ives Show an entertaining and informative experience.

“My reason for entering the showgirl competition for St Ives Show was because I had an interest in agriculture and to promote farm animals to the young community,” said Felicity.

Felicity is a busy young woman and, besides working for Aldo’s Pizza part time is one of three owners of the Siouxsie Stud.

When Felicity was 13 years old, she joined the ‘International Order of the Rainbow for Girls’.  While she was in Rainbows she was involved in fundraising for different types of charities. In her last year with Rainbows, she held the position of Grand Worthy Advisor and was asked to nominate a worthwhile charity for the group to assist. CareFlight was her selection.  “The reason I made this choice,” said Felicity, “was that once, when I was leaving Richmond TAFE, there was a car accident and my friends and I stopped to see if we could help. CareFlight was called in and, having watched them in action, I decided to support them.”

Felicity is a Life Member of Palouse Of Australia Inc (POA). She is the Vice President and the youth organiser for the organisation and, for the past five years, has been showing Palouse Ponies. Felicity has been showing her stallion who does very well at the shows. He has held the overall high point score for the past three years with the POA; he also has been a State Champion with the POA and the Independent Miniature Horse Registry (IMHR). She trains, works and shows the Palouse at agricultural shows, Sydney Quarter Horse Association (SQHA) shows, POA shows and at the IMHR shows in NSW.

When Felicity was attending Richmond High School, she was a member of their Agricultural Show Team and got to learn about growing crops, raising chickens, working with sheep and showing cattle.

A resident of the Hawkesbury district, her hobbies include reading books, showing horses and enjoying time with her friends.
